1. Father's Day Chocolates

Holy smokes! Father's Day is this Sunday!

We have crafted especially for the blokes these epic chocolate coated coffee beans - yes really! Just when you thought that our raw dark chocolate (sokolata)  couldn't get any better.... These are diabolical 😬

Combining my love of real raw dark unadulterated (i.e. crap free) chocolate (sweetened with maple syrup) and my love of Sacred Grounds organic fair trade coffee beans. 2 coffee beans in every square.... An espresso hit that will get your motor running and humming. Sold in 100g bags at Broth Bar & Larder. Limited quantities so get in quick!

We wrote on the packet that this one is for the blokes but I reckon there's going to be a tug of war between the sexes on these babies.

2. NEW PRODUCTS

A) Mint carob bears

Our mint carob bears are flying off the shelf faster than anyone can say "What?! Only 3 ingredients?!?" Yep, only organic raw cacao butter, organic carob powder and Young Living food grade / therapeutic peppermint essential oil. NO ADDED SWEETENER WHATSOEVER. Because carob is sweet enough. And no milk powder, soy lectins and emulsifiers found in leading competing brands. Which makes them totally guilt-free.

I've never really been a huge fan of carob but with the added fresh taste of peppermint I love this little bears. And don't these guys look super cute too!

B) Insulated stainless steel hot drink cups

In order to reduce reliance on disposable cups we have in stock these insulated hot drink cups for your take away broth or other hot drinks.

Help reduce the 23 billion coated paper or Styrofoam coffee cups that end up in landfills every year with this reusable alternative.

Free of BPA, phthalates, PVC and lead!

C) Rectangular lunch boxes with removeable divider

Our square stainless square lunch boxes with removable cross divider were such a hit that we are also retailing rectangular ones with a single removable divider as an extra lunch box option.

These BPA-free, leak-proof containers are a non-toxic alternative to plastic containers.

They are ideal for sandwhiches, salads, fruit, veggies and slices to take to work or school.

Take away lunches just got a whole lot easier.

For those struggling with what to pack for school or work lunches follow me on social media where I post daily photos of what my 2 monkeys are taking to school with them each day. Almost always grain-free and occasionally dairy-free and always crap-free.

D) KABI stainless steel drink bottles

We are retailing these new sleek and functional KABI (Keep A Bottle Indefinitely) stainless steel bottles. These are unique as the double walled vacuum sealed insulation keeps your broth (or other hot drink)  hot for 12 hours. The lids are also made of stainless steel and not plastic so perfect if you wanted to add some lemon essential oil to your drink bottle (essential oils should not be drunk through plastic lids as they can dissolve the plastic giving you a mouthful of whatever the plastic is made from... We learnt that one the hard way 😝)

BPA-free, condensation-free and environmentally friendly. Available in 3 pretty pastel colours: Mint, Blueberry & Lavender

E) Weekend shot proof coffee

On weekends we are offering our sneaky broth and butter infused coffee. Made with Sacred Grounds certified organic coffee beans, filtered water, 100% grass fed butter and a sneaky broth cube (which you can't taste but adds nutrients) this hits the spots without giving you the jitters as the broth and butter slow down the release of caffeine.

5. UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

I have a few spaces left in my All Things Chocolate Workshop on 22 September. For more info and details on how to book, click here.

If anyone is interested in being a helper at one of my workshops please contact me at info@staraniseorganic. The helper comes to the workshop for free, obtains all the leanings and the workshop booklet in return for assisting with greeting the arrival of clients and helping to clean up throughout and at the end of the workshop. It is a small way of giving back to the community especially for those who would love to attend one of my workshops but may not have the financial means to do so. I especially encourage this for students studying health and nutrition.

I DO NOT RECEIVE ANY COMMISSIONS, FREEBIES OR KICK BACKS FROM ANY SUPPLIER. I SIMPLY PROMOTE BUSINESSES WHOSE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES I PERSONALLY USE AND WHO HAVE A SIMILAR ETHOS TO MINE. MY BLOG STARTED OVER 6 YEARS AGO AS A WAY OF EXPRESSING MY LOVE FOR REAL FOOD AND THINGS THAT MAKE ME TICK. I LOVE SHARING WHAT I KNOW. I HOPE YOU ENJOYED READING THIS NEWSLETTER.

UNTIL NEXT TIME...

All Things Chocolate Workshop: 8th, 14th, 22nd September, October 13 and (finally) 27th

Guest User

I am excited to be running a round of 5 “All Things Chocolate” workshops limited to 14 people each.

Everyone loves to indulge in something sweet and chocolately every now and again – and why not? We eat for pleasure just as much as for nourishment and sustenance. But the key to sweet treat consumption is maximising quality and limiting quantity! What I have observed and personally experienced over the past 20 years is that if we dial up quality to the max, the quantity consumed naturally decreases. A little goes a long way when you eat the real deal as your body gets its fix and fill super fast.

Finding high quality treats without any artificial ingredients and empty fillers can be tricky business which is why I started my own range for my children 10 years ago.  It’s comforting to be able to offer my loved ones every now and again something naturally sweet made with only nutrient-dense ingredients without feeling overridden with guilt that I’m messing up their health. I want this for every household! Which is why I want to share some of my chocolate recipes and culinary tips with you in this intensive workshop, so that you too can make chocolate treats and desserts for yourself, your family and friends that not only taste delicious, are quick and super simple to make, but are also good for you!

IN THIS WORKSHOP I WILL BE SHOWCASING HOW TO MAKE:

+ Mexican chilli hot chocolate
+ Chocolate block/slab of various flavours including carob
+ Chocolate hazelnut spread (the real “nutella”)
+ Chocolate ice-cream
+ Hot chocolate pudding
+ Chocolate pannacotta
+ Chocolate hazelnut slice
+ Raw chocolate mousse

The above just about covers the entire range of my favourite ways to consume chocolate!! Chocolate cake will be covered in my gluten-free cakes and muffins workshop coming up soon! Chocolate smoothies will be covered in my bone broth workshop (yes really!) and breakfast workshops.

We will be using unprocessed fermented raw cacao powder. We will not be using any refined sweeteners – only natural unprocessed sweeteners or whole fruit. All recipes are grain-free but 3 contain dairy.

COST IS $140 PER PERSON AND INCLUDES:

1. Detailed workshop booklet (30 pages) including theory, step by step guides & recipes
2. Nutritional theory discussion on raw cacao powder, raw cacao butter, carob, chocolate and sweeteners
3. Practical demonstrations
4. Hands-on experience
5. Food tasting
6. Opportunity to ask questions

THIS WORKSHOP IS IDEAL FOR:

+ Those who are grain-free or gluten-free
+ Chocolate lovers who want to learn how to make their own nutrient-dense healthy chocolate sweets and desserts using only unprocessed nutritious ingredients
+ Those who want to transition off processed chocolate and want a healthy substitute for themselves or their family members
+ Those who want to take their health and well-being to the next level by understanding the role of sugars, and raw cacao versus cocoa versus carob in the body
+ Those who want to try new things!
