Blog

This blog started as a way for me to share my recipes + culinary adventures, tips for vibrant health + happiness, thoughts on the latest developments in nutritional medicine + the low down on the Sydney wholefoods scene and beyond...

Are you ready to take the most important step for you and your family’s health?

Becca Crawford

When I hit rock bottom 20 years with after burning myself out as a young corporate lawyer, there were many doors that I opened that had a profound effect on rebuilding my physical and mental health. But the door that without a doubt had THE MOST PROFOUND EFFECT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY was eating a nutrient-dense omnivorous wholefoods diet rich in organ meats, bone broth, wild seafood, grass fed meat, pastured eggs, and saturated fats from natural sources (along with fermented and fresh veggies, activated nuts and some occasional healthy treats with natural sweeteners low in fructose). I quickly had to learn how to make meals incorporating these foods that literally switch on our DNA so I started getting back into the kitchen and crafting my own recipes as few, if any, people were selling pate, broth, slow cooked casseroles, sauerkraut and activated nuts in Sydney at that time. Almost immediately I felt this food touch my soul and nourish my body. It was learning to cook this food in my home  that was the most instrumental factor in reclaiming my health and maintaining it at a spectacular level all these years later.

The food industry has us believe that cooking is time-consuming, a burdensome chore, hard work and expensive. They would prefer that we buy cheap, packaged or take-away, denatured “food” instead.  It might look cheap but let me tell you this: you are paying a HIGH PRICE for it with your health! The industrial seed oils they cook all such food in, the refined sugars and artificial flavours they use to enhance it and the refined gluten used as one of, if not the main ingredient, all have deleterious effects on our health. Since turning to a home-made real foods diet, and avoiding processed foods and cheap quality take outs,  I have only experienced spectacular health.  Despite episodes of extreme stress (including mould, divorce, death of a family member and more that I won’t bore you with) my robust and uncompromising diet provides me with a strong foundation to weather the (inevitable) storms.

Spurred by my own experience and that of hundreds of my clients, I have made it my life’s mission to educate you on what is (and isn’t) real food, to inspire you to start embracing real food and, more importantly, to empower you to STARTING COOKING IT IN YOUR OWN HOME! The greatest gift I can give you is showing you that making your own nutrient-dense meals can be simple, easy, quick and insanely delicious. The greatest gift I can give you is showing you that IT’S NOT THAT HARD…once you learn the basics…and that’s where I come in!

In my renowned no-nonsense, uncomplicated approach, I show you in my online workshops (which include a video plus a comprehensive booklet with lifetime access) how you can make your own delicious, nutrient dense meals very quickly and easily. I’ve earnt a reputation of  putting a wholefoods, gluten-free and nutrient dense spin on classic recipes (including traditional Greek family ones) and skipping steps if it does not compromise nutrient density and flavour. I loathe recipes with lengthy ingredient lists and complicated methods. Hence why I started crafting my own recipes over a decade ago with these 4 criteria:

1. Only use nutrient dense ingredients (with no empty fillers) that are ethically sourced and unprocessed

2. The recipe must be quick, simple, easy to make

3. It must have as few ingredients and steps as possible

4.The end product must be intensively flavoursome / insanely delicious

Cooking your own meals gives you confidence! It enables you to reclaim power over your and your family’s health! And it makes us mamas feel so good when we are nourishing our family in the best possible way. Nourishing ourselves and our family is engrained in our ancient DNA. Instead of seeing cooking as a chore, revere it like it once was in traditional cultures- as the life giving tool to heal, nourish, satisfy and delight. See it as a creative pursuit in its own right, a way to use your hands (in this increasingly digital world) and a way to inject your own creative flare into my basic recipes.

Click here to purchase my online workshops either individually or as bundles to save. I have online workshops on bone broth, organ meats, slow cooks, baked cakes, and chocolate. That just about covers the full repertoire of what you need to know!
